Carne Asada
Ingredients
Carne Asada
- 9.5 lb Skirt or Flank Steak
- 1.5675 cup Lime Juice (about 2 limes)
- 1.1875 cup Orange Juice (for sweetness)
- 9.5 tbsp Olive Oil
- 19 clove Garlic (minced)
- 1.1875 cup Cilantro (chopped)
- 4.75 tsp Ground Cumin
- 4.75 tsp Chili Powder
- 4.75 tsp Salt
- 2.375 tsp Black Pepper
- 1.1875 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak — In a bowl, whisk together lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, garlic, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Place the steak in a resealable bag or dish, pour the marinade over it, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight for best results).
- Prepare the Grill — Preheat the grill to high heat. If using charcoal, wait until the coals are ashy and gray.
- Grill the Steak — Remove the steak from the marinade and let the excess drip off. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side until it reaches the desired doneness. Get a good char on both sides.
- Rest and Slice — Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
- Serve — Serve with warm tortillas, salsa, guacamole, and lime wedges. Carne Asada is perfect for tacos, burritos, or as a standalone dish.
